Kingfisher / Kōtare Doorframe Bird

A bright little nod to the kingfishers that flit around the Māpua estuary.

This hand-painted wooden kingfisher is designed to perch neatly on the top corner of a doorframe, shelf, picture frame or wall trim. A sweet way to add a bit of local birdlife indoors without taking up wall space.

• Laser cut from 6mm wood
• Hand-painted in small batches
• Designed to sit on a doorframe or similar ledge
• Inspired by the kingfishers of the Māpua estuary
• Approximately 7.5cm wide from back to chest, 11.5cm tall from head to perch.
• Lightweight and easy to place

Each one is individually finished, so small variations in paint and wood grain are part of its handmade character.
